PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select and output a filter suitable for components of an inputted audio signal. SOLUTION: An audio signal to be inputted to the audio signal processing apparatus is inputted in parallel to a sharp roll-off characteristic filter and a slow roll-off characteristic filter and filtered. A great amplitude component detecting unit detects a component with a great amplitude of the audio signal depending on whether a change amount in an output value of the audio signal is greater than a predetermined reference value. A high frequency component detecting unit detects a high frequency component of the audio signal depending on whether a change pattern in the output value of the audio signal matches with a predetermined pattern. If the great amplitude component or the high frequency component is detected, a switching unit switches to the output of the sharp roll-off characteristic filter and performs outputting to an output unit but in the other case, the output of the slow roll-off characteristic filter is outputted to the output unit.
