PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image switching device, by which a special effect device connected though different interfaces can be used by common operation similarly. SOLUTION: A type memory unit 33 is provided at a synthesis switching control unit 31 to memorize whether a special effect device, which is connected currently and can be acted, is equipped with a dedicated interface or with an SDI interface. The content of the type memory unit 33 can be rewritten(set by a user) when the user operates a synthesis switching operation input unit 35. An allotment management unit 32 is provided at the synthesis switching control unit 31. Under control of changing the operation by referring the type memory unit 3, the synthesis switching control unit 31 can use the special effect device with two kinds of interfaces similarly only by changing the setting on such a control procedure as changing a process in reference to the type memory unit 33.
