PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel property discriminating device which discriminates components included in fuel vapor flowing in a canister. SOLUTION: The device is equipped with a canister temperature sensor 34 for measuring canister temperature T<SB>can</SB>and calculates a temperature history of the canister temperature T<SB>can</SB>measured for a predetermined time t<SB>A</SB>after fuel vapor starts flowing into a canister 20. On the basis of the temperature history, a peak temperature reaching time t<SB>pk</SB>when the canister temperature T<SB>can</SB>reaches a peak value from the inflow starting time point is acquired with respect to respective peak values. The peak temperature reaching time t<SB>pk</SB>(an actually measured value) is compared with the peak temperature reaching time t<SB>pk</SB>(a map memory value) previously set to each component assumed to be included in the fuel vapor, thereby discriminating components in the fuel vapor flowing in the canister 20.
