PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a panel mounting method and a panel mounting structure, which facilitate the adjustment of an interval between a panel and a wall surface. SOLUTION: This panel mounting method is used for mounting a plaster board 3 on a wall body 2 at a predetermined interval via a fixing implement 4 capable of adjusting thickness by pressing, and a foaming adhesive 5. The panel mounting method comprises: the first step of installing the plurality of fixing implements 4, the thicknesses of which are adjusted to a dimension greater than the predetermined interval, and the at least one foaming adhesive 5, which is foamed in such a manner as to have a thickness greater in dimension than the predetermined interval, on at least either of the backside of the plaster board 3 and the front side of the wall body 2; the second process of fixing the plaster board 3 to the wall body 2 via the fixing implement 4; and the third step of adjusting the thickness of the fixing implement 4 by pressing the plaster board 3 from the front side of the plaster board 3, so as to arrange the plaster board 3 in a position away from the wall body 2 at the predetermined interval.
