PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an adhesive using a gelled polystyrene as a raw material excellent in adhesive strength and in coating performance, and harmless to human bodies due to help reuse of a foamed polystyrene or a polystyrene. SOLUTION: The gelled polystyrene is obtained by dissolving the foamed polystyrene or the polystyrene in a foamed polystyrene volume-reducing agent that is prepared by adding ethyl alcohol to a citrus fruit extracted oil. The adhesive using the gelled polystyrene as the raw material comprises the gelled polystyrene of 100 pts.wt., the citrus fruit extracted oil of 5-30 pts.wt. and acetone of 5-30 pts.wt. the solubility parameter of which is similar to that of the gelled polystyrene.
