DYE FOR ANISOTROPIC DYE FILM, DYE COMPOSITION FOR ANISOTROPIC DYE FILM, ANISOTROPIC DYE FILM, AND POLARIZING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anisotropic dye film having high dichroism and to provide a polarizing device having an anisotropic dye film and having excellent heat resistance, light resistance and polarizing performance. SOLUTION: The anisotropic dye film having a cycle (d), ascribed to molecular lamination, of≤3.445Åand a lamination length (L) of≥105Å. The anisotropic dye film exhibits an orientation degree of the molecular lamination axis of≥85%, a film thickness of≤30μm and is preferably produced by a wet film formation method. The film exhibits high dichroism by possessing a molecular arrangement suitable for developing a dichroic ratio. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
