PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile communication system which enhances reliability by increasing the degree of layout freedom of a communication network. SOLUTION: The mobile communication system disclosed herein is configured by enhancing the conventional mobile communication system for transmitting/receiving data through communication in a communication network provided in a mobile body. This system includes: a plurality of nodes; a path controller that receives data from each node, selects a path for data transfer on a communication network, and provides an output; and first optical fibers each provided with each node for interconnecting each node to the path control unit; and second optical fibers each provided in parallel with each first optical fiber, and the path control unit is characterized in to make communication with each node by using the second optical fiber when any of the first optical fibers is faulty.
