PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat-face display device and its manufacturing method capable of reducing damage due to discharge. SOLUTION: In the flat-face display device equipped with an envelope with a space between a front substrate 2 and a rear-face substrate 1 made into a vacuum atmosphere and with a getter film formed on an inner face side of the image display area of the front substrate, the getter film 200 has an electrically high-resistant part each in a length direction and a cross direction, and the high-resistant part in the length direction is formed as an area without the getter film.
