PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a granular excrement-treating material having a uniform color by forming a composition for covering, containing a fine pulverized product of wood flour by pulverizing the wood flour to the fine product while avoiding the risk of dust explosion caused by the pulverized product of the wood flour, and covering a core part with the composition for the covering; and to provide a method for producing the excrement-treating material. SOLUTION: The granular excrement-treating material has the covering part for covering the core part or at least a part of the surface of the core part, and≥1 mm grain size. The covering part comprises and is composed of a dried wood powder-pulverized product having≤0.5 mm grain size, and a dried pulverized product of corrugated cardboard having≤0.5 mm grain size or a dried pulverized product of a buff powder having≤0.5 mm grain size, or the dried pulverized product of the corrugated cardboard having≤0.5 mm grain size, the dried pulverized product of the buff powder having≤0.5 mm grain size, and a material having adhesiveness in the excrement-treating material.
