A communication terminal includes a CPU (28), which issues, to a router (16), a request for the router (16) to transmit, to a server (14), a request signal requesting repetitive responses. Then, the router (16) transmits the request signal to the server (14), and a receiving port is temporarily opened. The server (14) repetitively sends a response signal in response to the request signal. The response signal is accompanied by time information indicative of a wait time from receiving the request signal till sending the response signal. Response signals sent while the receiving port being opened reach the communication terminal via the router (16), but response signals sent after the receiving port being closed are abandoned at the router (16). The CPU (28) repetitively issues a transmission request to the router (16) in an issuance period (T) that is a time period indicated by the time information accompanying the response signal that is finally received.
