<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide novel moving picture recording and reproduction and print functions while maintaining the compatibility with the recording and reproducing standards and the print list standards of conventional digital photographing apparatuses. <P>SOLUTION: This recording and reproducing apparatus includes: a file management means including moving picture directories and still picture directories; a print file generating means for generating still picture files located at directories equal to or below the still picture directories as a print list; and a still picture extract means for extracting a still picture of a designated scene from moving picture files located at directories equal to or below the moving picture directories, and the recording and reproducing apparatus records the still picture extracted from the still picture extract means from directories equal to or below the still picture directories in the case of generating the print list of the designated scene of the moving picture and uses the print file generating means to register the still picture to the print list. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
