<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device with a high aperture ratio and with high alignment controllability. <P>SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device, a reflective display region R is arranged on a nearly central part of a dot region and a transmissive display region T is arranged on a peripheral part of the dot region, a protrusion 18 is arranged on a surface of a liquid crystal layer thickness adjusting layer 21 in the reflective display region R, and an inclined region 21a of the liquid crystal layer thickness adjusting layer 21 is formed from the reflective display region R to the transmissive display region T. Thereby the distance from the peripheral part of the inclined region 21a to that of the dot region is reduced, and consequently liquid crystal molecules are rapidly and certainly inclined from the reflective display region R to the transmissive display region T, and the alignment controllability is improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
