PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of securing its operating performance such as abrasion resistance, braking performance, etc. without increasing the manufacturing cost and also enhancing the adhesive strength with different members and provide a manufacturing method for pneumatic tires. SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire is furnished on the tread surface with a plurality of ribs formed by a plurality of circumferentially stretching main grooves which are straight along the tire circumferential direction, wherein each rib has a recess having a smaller depth than the circumferentially stretching main grooves and a smaller width than them, while the recess has a depth of 0.5-1.5 mm, being 3.7-18.7% of the depth of the circumferentially stretching main grooves, and a width being 25-45% of the width of them.
