PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge tube attaining improvement of discharge efficiency and stable brightness, capable of improving light transmission efficiency. SOLUTION: The discharge tube comprises a container for discharge having a discharging space at its inside driven by a multi-phase driving circuit and a plurality of electrodes fixed to the container and corresponding to respective phases of the multi-phase driving circuit. Respective tip parts of the plurality of electrodes are made to protrude in the discharging space and made directed toward a prescribed jointing point.
