PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize the amount of data which are lost owing to a battery fall while enabling recording even when the writing speed and data transfer rate of a recording medium are close to each other. SOLUTION: A packing/unpacking part 22 converts video and audio data inputted from an application into packed video and audio data. An interface part 23 outputs the packed video and audio data to a disk control block 3. A buffer control part 34 stores the inputted packed video and audio data in a buffer 35. A hard disk drive 4, with one track as a recording unit, secures one track or a plurality of successive tracks to record the packed video and audio data on a magnetic disk 45.
