PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-strength galvannealed steel sheet which does not have an unplated defect formed thereon, has superior workability, and has a plated film with superior adhesiveness formed thereon. SOLUTION: This high-strength galvannealed steel sheet includes a zinc-iron alloy phase in a galvannealed layer formed thereon, in which a ratio of a diffraction intensity of aΓphase or a diffraction intensity of aζphase to a diffraction intensity of aδphase, while all of the intensities are obtained from an X-ray diffraction analysis, can satisfyΓ(2.59Å)/δ(2.13Å)≤0.008×[äP content (wt%) in steel}<SP>-0.8</SP>] andζ(1.26Å)/δ(2.13Å)≤0.03 respectively, whereinΓ(2.59Å) is the diffraction intensity of theΓphase having a crystal lattice plane distance d=2.59Å;ζ(1.26Å) is the diffraction intensity of theζphase having a crystal lattice plane distance d=1.26Å; andδ(2.13Å) is the diffraction intensity of theδphase having a crystal lattice plane distance d=2.13Å.
