PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet document carrying device realizing miniaturization of a device and reduction of costs. SOLUTION: The static reading type sheet document carrying device carries a bind of documents, by separating one by one in order, from a document loading tray loaded with a plurality of document sheets, and stops the reading document on a platen glass, and reads the document-to-be-read with a reading device, and, thereafter, discharges the document sheets. This document sheet carrying device has carrying belts for carrying the document sheet, a separating roller for separating the sheet document and a separating pad pushed to the separating roller.
