PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing reel effective for preventing the generation of line slack even in the case of the generation of back lash and collectively solving various problems caused by the application of braking force to a spool. SOLUTION: The fishing reel is provided with a reel body 3, a spool 2 supported by the reel body 3 at both sides in a manner rotatable in normal and reverse directions, and a line guide 50 having a line-passing hole 5 and positioned at the front side of the spool 2 on the reel body 3. The line 1 is delivered to the spool 2 through the line-passing hole 5. The reel body 3 is provided with a line-delivery mechanism 7 interlocked with the rotation of the spool 2 and placed between the spool 2 and the line-passing hole 5, and the line 1 delivered from the spool 2 is passed through the line passing hole 5 and delivered.
