Soft fruit such as plums, or apples, is picked up by the flexible blades of a rotor which pass across a flap. The fruit is passed to a rotating drum fitted with longitudinal bars between which the fruit is carried. A second similar but larger, drum above and spaced from the first drum directs the fruit downwardly to a transverse conveyor. The fruit is transferred via conveyors to an elevator and then to a further conveyor over which air is blown from a fan to clean the fruit. The fruit then passes over an elastic grid, which permits stones to fall through, and into a hopper. A conveyor takes the fruit from the hopper for discharge to a trailer towed behind the tractor.
