<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which can suppress power consumption more effectively by installing a real-time clock so as to change the setting of a shift time by a time zone for reducing the power consumption and performing control so as to automatically change the shift time when a set time comes. <P>SOLUTION: For a normal time zone, an automatically shifting time is set to be longer so that the time is not shifted to a reduction mode as far as possible. For a reduction time zone, the automatically shifting time is set to be shorter so that the time is shifted to the reduction mode as far as possible. The starting time of a normal time is set in an operation and indication section 10 (S10), and then set in a system memory section 22 (S11).
