<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas generator for an airbag capable of reducing weight of a coolant filter. <P>SOLUTION: This gas generator 10 for the airbag has a housing 11 having gas exhaust ports 17, 18, an ignition means chamber storing ignition means 31, 32, and combustion chambers 20, 25 storing gas generation agent and the cylindrical coolant filter 55 is arranged among the combustion chamber and the gas exhaust ports to let combustion gas pass through the coolant filter and exhaust it from the gas exhaust ports. This gas generator is provided with the following requirements. (a) The gas generation agent generates a heating value of 10 to 30 kcal/mol, (b) mass (g) of the coolant filter for gas of 1 mol generated when burning the gas generation agent is 20 to 65 g/mol, and (c) thickness of the coolant filter is 4.0 mm or more. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
