PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide toner and an image forming method by which defects attributed to excessive fixing of black toner are not caused in a flash fixing system in which color toner and the black toner are simultaneously fixed, accordingly a color output image exhibits good scratch resistance. SOLUTION: In the image forming method using flash fixing in which images formed of a plurality of kinds of toner having infrared absorption powers different from one another in the wavelength range of 800-1,000 nm are collectively flash-fixed, the toner whose average absorbance in the range of 800-1,000 nm is <1.0 contains a polyolefin wax having an Mn of 500-2,000 and an Mw to Mn ratio of 1.0-2.0 and the toner whose average absorbance in the range of 800-1,000 nm is≥1.0 contains a polyolefin wax having an Mn of 2,500-10,000.
