PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a "video display device and video display method" capable of displaying the video image of a blanking period by an inconspicuous color even in the case that the video image of the blanking period is displayed in an effective video image period due to the disturbance of synchronizing signals and improving display quality. SOLUTION: In the video display device capable of RGB-converting and displaying digital video signals transferred from a transfer device, the transfer device turns chrominance signals and luminance signals in the blanking period to values corresponding to gray and transfers them.
