摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor laser array having two or more optimized refractive index waveguide structures in order to obtain high output necessary for a writing purpose, and a method for manufacturing the semiconductor laser array. SOLUTION: The semiconductor laser array is provided with a semiconductor substrate and at least two semiconductor laser elements 101 formed on the semiconductor substrate and having respectively different emitting wavelengths. The second semiconductor laser element 102 is selectively arranged on the first semiconductor laser element 101, the first semiconductor laser element 101 has a first active layer 4 and a first refractive index waveguide structure, the second semiconductor laser element 102 has a second active layer 16 and a second refractive index waveguide structure, and a horizontal distance parallel with one main surface of the semiconductor substrate is held between the light-emitting center of the first active layer 4 and the light-emitting center of the second active layer 16.
