PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a highly reliable image display device easy to assemble in obtaining a flat panel display with a display panel and a back panel sealed through a frame spacer. SOLUTION: The flat panel display airtightly sealing the display panel 2 and the back panel 1 through the frame spacer 3, has a characteristic structure in the frame spacer 3. Instead of using frame glass previously molded, bar-like glass members 31 are combined to make up a frame-like junction, and a stepped part 32 is provided by notching an end part of each bar-like glass member 31 so as not to shift inward. The stepped parts 32 of the bar-like glass members 31 are combined with each other to join them in a frame shape. Corner metal fittings 33 may be used to combine the glass members instead of providing the stepped parts at the end parts of the bar-like glass members. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
