PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage device capable of performing proper volume rearrangement even when connecting a plurality of storage devices. SOLUTION: This storage device 10 has: a storage controller 100 having an external connection function recognizing an external logic volume set on a physical storage device 403 as a logic volume inside the storage device 10, and a volume rearrangement function performing the rearrangement of the logic volume on the basis of a set condition; and a storage device 200 having a plurality of physical storage devices 201. When a read request is given to the logic volume set on the physical storage device 201 of the storage device 200 from a host 300, the volume rearrangement function internally produces the same read request to the external logic volume set on the physical storage device 403 inside an external storage device 400, and performs the volume rearrangement on the basis of monitor information monitoring a response to the read request.
