<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information protection system, an image forming apparatus, an image reader, a network image forming apparatus, and an information protection method for efficiently protecting information recorded on paper. <P>SOLUTION: The information protection system is characterized in that an IC chip is built in the paper, information written in the IC chip is referenced, and information to be recorded on the paper can be protected.
