<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear shifting control device for a vehicle such as a motor cycle capable of smooth gear shifting operation while eliminating clutch operation. <P>SOLUTION: This device is provided with a control unit smoothly changing output of an engine by determining shift operation start timing based on detection signal of the sift operation detector and controlling quantity of intake air to the engine according to gear shifting position detected by the gear shifting position detection means. As an embodiment, the control unit defines target initial throttle opening corresponding to the gear shifting position from a target initial throttle opening table (step S5), defines throttle opening corresponding to the gear shifting position, time and data of degree of attenuation (step S6) based on throttle opening, time and a table of data of degree of attenuation and determines time of the opening and target throttle opening (step S7).
