PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the security of the contents of an electronic name card and to allow a person who receives such an electronic card to easily recognize that the contents of the electronic name card are legitimate. SOLUTION: A system for certifying electronic name cards includes a service site 1 that stores information about the contents of electronic name cards publicly certified by a public certification authority 3, passwords for specifying this information, and fingerprint information for uniquely authenticating the registrant of each electronic name card in association with each other; a first cell phone 21 capable of sending the password to other mobile terminal devices; and a cell phone 22 for receiving at least the password from the cell phone 21 and accepting the fingerprint information of the user of the cell phone 21 on a fingerprint detection surface 20. When the cell phone 22 sends the password and the fingerprint information received from the cell phone 21, the service server 11 collates them and, if they match, sends information to the cell phone 22 certifying the authenticity of electronic card information.
