PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an in-mold coating molding method for uniformizing the thickness of the coating formed on a resin molded product to obtain excellent quality not forming a flow mark or the like. SOLUTION: This method for applying the coating to the surface of the resin molded product includes a first process for injecting and filling a resin in the cavity of a mold assembly, which is clamped by a mold clamping device, by an injection device, a second process for moving a movable mold by the mold clamping device after the resin molded product is obtained by cooling and solidifying the resin to provide a gap between the resin molded product and a fixed mold or the movable mold, a third process for injecting the coating in the gap by a coating injection machine, a fourth process for recognizing the injection start time of the coating by a control device, a fifth process for recognizing the elapse of a predetermined time from the start of the injection of the coating by the timer of the control device and a sixth process for clamping the mold assembly by the mold clamping device receiving the signal from the control device after the predetermined time recognized by the timer of the control device is elapsed.
