PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a partition which has a structure facilitating mounting of transparent plates thereon. SOLUTION: The partition is formed of a partition skeleton which has at least a plurality of supports 3, and horizontal members 4 horizontally arranged between the supports 3, and glass sheets 5 as plate-like panel elements, which are mounted at least on a front side or a rear side of the partition skeleton 4, and each have side edges thereof supported by the supports and an upper edge and a lower edge thereof supported by the horizontal members, respectively. Herein each horizontal member 4 is formed of a horizontal member main body 41 mounted on the support 3, and a glass retaining frame 42 as a transparent plate retaining member, which covers the horizontal member main body 41 from above and can retain the glass sheets 5 on both upper and lower sides thereof.
