PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt driving device having a low-cost and miniaturized automatic tension mechanism by reducing the number of parts, and to provide a recording device, or the like with the same, and to solve the problem of distortion of an arm part generated by reducing the number of parts. SOLUTION: A torsion coil spring 600 is provided with a support shaft part 605, which supports an idler 554 in one end thereof, the arm part 601 extended from a support point (coil base part 606), and a distortion preventing part 602 provided between the support shaft part 605 and the arm part 601 to prevent distortion of the arm part 601 due to energizing force and reaction force from a belt 553 against the energizing force. The distortion preventing part 602 is provided with a detour part 612 for integrally connecting a tip side (tip part 601a) of the arm part with the support shaft part 605, while detouring the idler 554.
