PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet material cutting device furnished with a presser device constituted to directly drive a presser member to pressurize a sheet material itself, capable of providing certain pressurizing force in a simpler structure and capable of providing stable pressuring motion without causing inclination of the presser member during its movement. SOLUTION: This sheet material cutting device to cut the sheet material my moving a movable blade along a knife edge of a fixed blade extended in the sheet material cross direction has a carriage to move by holding the movable blade, a sheet guide to guide one surface of the sheet material and the presser device of the sheet material. The presser device has a supporting shaft extended in the sheet material cross direction, the presser member of the sheet material set on the supporting shaft, a coil spring to give pressurizing force to the supporting shaft, a tie bar to reinforce the axial direction of the supporting shaft by linking with the supporting shaft, a cam mechanism to drive the linked supporting shaft to the side to be separated from the sheet material by driving the tie bar by making contact with the carriage and a revolving guide to guide the supporting shaft.
