PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form no rake-up disabled region at a suction port in a vacuum cleaner provided with a rotary brush at a suction port section. SOLUTION: In the vacuum cleaner with the laterally-long rotary brush 3a provided at the suction port section 2, the rotary brush 3a is rotatably supported in a position where both ends are left, and has bristles 30a up to the positions close to both ends thereof. Since the rotary brush 3a thus has the bristles 30a up to the positions close to both ends thereof, regions not reached by the bristles at both ends of the suction port section 2 can be minimized.
