PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine with an illumination lamp with less short circuits and faults. SOLUTION: The washing machine comprises a washing tub 2 provided with an opening (not shown in the figure) opened and closed by a door (not shown in the figure), a rotary tub (not shown in the figure) freely rotatably provided inside the washing tub 2, and an illumination lamp 8. The illumination lamp 8 includes a transparent wall 8a with a waterproof structure provided on a wall surface facing the lowest bottom part of the rotary tub of the washing tub and a light emitting diode 8c arranged on the outer side of the transparent wall 8a facing it and provided with the waterproof structure at least around an electrode 8s. Even if the transparent wall 8a is damaged, since the waterproof structure is provided around the electrode 8s of the light emitting diode 8c provided facing it, the damage does not become the cause of the short circuits or the faults.
