DETERGENT COMPOSITION

A detergent composition which contains a taurine derivative (a) represented by the formula (I) and at least one anionic surfactant (b) selected from the group consisting of anionic surfactants having a sulfuric acid group or sulfo group, acylamino acid type anionic surfactants, and C<SUB>8-22</SUB> fatty acid salts, in a specific proportion. The detergent composition lathers well (even when an oily ingredient coexists) and the lather is creamy. When cleaning is conducted with a detergent comprising the composition, the detergent gives no slimy feeling during rinse and the lather can be eliminated rapidly. After cleaning (after drying), the detergent gives neither a stretched feeling nor a dry feeling to the skin. The detergent attains an excellent finishing of cleaning.
