<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep produced load approximately constant in overall range in buckling distortion of ribs, in a shock absorbing member constituted into the lattice shape by the ribs of honeycomb structure or the like. <P>SOLUTION: In this shock absorbing member 1 formed into the lattice shape composed of the ribs 2 intersected with each other lengthwise and breadthwise by a forming die, intersection parts of the ribs 2 are cut into the shape of recessed part to form notches 5. The notches 5 are a plurality of combinations of various depths.
