<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent malfunction by making contact electrodes unnecessary or less in number. <P>SOLUTION: A gate driver 160 includes a circuit section CS which includes a plurality of cascade-connected stages and outputs a drive signal based upon control signals, and a line section LS. The line section includes a start signal line SL 1, 1st and 2nd clock lines SL2 and SL3, an off voltage line SL4, a reset line SL5, and a plurality of connection lines CL1 to CL3 which connect the 1st and 2nd clock lines and off voltage (ground voltage) line to the plurality of stages. The connection lines connecting the 1st and 2nd clock lines to the respective stages are arranged in a different layer from the 2nd clock line. A contact electrode for the 1st clock line and its connection line becomes unnecessary, so a drive unit can be prevented from malfunctioning owing to corrosion of the electrode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
