METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING H-SECTION STEEL WITH PROJECTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an H-section steel with projections which has excellent toughness independently of the thickness of a flange and the variations of characteristic values such as toughness like that and strength are small. SOLUTION: When manufacturing the H-section steel with the projections which has the projections on the outer surface of a flange, cooling stopping temperature is set from the range of 500-750°C in accordance with the thickness of the flange and also the outer surface and inner surface of the flange are water-cooled in the range of 0≤( the volume of cooling water to the outer surface of the flange/the volume of cooling water to the inner surface of the flange )≤3.
