PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier for a two-component developer having high durability even when combined with a toner containing a release agent. SOLUTION: In the carrier with a coating film comprising at least a binder resin and particles, a particle diameter (D) of the particles and a film thickness (h) of the binder resin satisfy 1<[D/h]<10 and the particles have been surface-treated with one or more organometallic compounds represented by formula (1), wherein M denotes SiR<SP>3</SP>, TiR<SP>3</SP>or Al; R denotes H or a 1-6C alkyl; R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>each independently denote a 1-6C alkyl; and R<SP>3</SP>denotes an optionally alkoxy-substituted alkyl or alkoxy having 1-6 carbons in total.
