PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera which can generate a color image for an output from RAW data even if the RAW data are not stored in a nonvolatile storage medium based on the conditions set after imaging, and to provide a method of processing the image. SOLUTION: The digital camera includes the volatile storage medium, an imaging means for forming the RAW data displaying gray level image of one channel for every pixel and storing it in the volatile storage medium, a setting means for setting the formation conditions according to the setting operation by receiving the setting operation of the formation conditions for forming the color image for the output from the RAW data after the imaging operation, an image formation means for forming the color image for the output based on the formation conditions from the RAW data stored in the volatile storage medium by the imaging means, and an output means for storing the color image for the output in the nonvolatile storage medium.
