PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processor and a compression method for an instruction code, allowing reduction of a program code area. SOLUTION: A code RAM 2 stores a program constructed by a plurality of functions. In each the function, an index of an operation code is described so as to reduce the program code area, and correspondence relation between address data and the index of the operation code is described. Operation code ROMs 163, 164 previously store all the operation codes, and code-converting RAMs 161, 162 store an OT showing the correspondence relation between the address data and the index of the operation code. A decoding part 160 rewrites the OT in each the function according to the description of the function in time of program execution, acquires the address data from the index in reference to the OT, and acquires the operation code from the operation code ROMs 163, 164 by use of the address data.
