PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-optical device capable of sticking a cover glass to a substrate with excellent positional precision, at low cost and easily and, thereby, preventing display failure and defective product. SOLUTION: The electro-optical device is made by inserting and holding liquid crystal 50 between a TFT substrate 11 and a counter substrate 12, wherein cover glasses 31, 32 are stuck to the surface of at least one side of the TFT substrate 11 and the counter substrate 12 by the use of a first heat-curable adhesive 30. A temporary fixation part is disposed on one part of a region where one sides 31i, 32i of the cover glasses 31, 32 are brought into pressing contact with at least one side substrate of the TFT substrate 11 and the counter substrate 12, a second heat-curable adhesive 60 including a heat generator 70 is applied on the temporary fixation part, and at least one side substrate of the TFT substrate 11 and the counter substrate 12 is fixed to the one sides 31i, 32i of the cover glasses 31, 32.
