PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately set a filter time constant, corresponding to each analysis and obtain a successful chromatogram, without making an operator perform troublesome operations, in a GC system capable of selecting filling column/capillary column analyses. SOLUTION: When the operator loads a column and selects a sample vaporization chamber and a detector to be used in accordance with an environmental configuration (S1), either a filling column analysis or a capillary column analysis is determined according to the selected sample vaporization chamber (S2); and according to each analysis, default values of the filter time constants are set (S3). When the filter time constant differs from a set value at that time, confirmation of change of time constant is made by using a pop-up menu (S5), and if the change is all right, the filter time constant regarding the detector selected in the environmental configuration is changed (S7).
