PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve timing adjustment device which reduces leakage of working fluid. SOLUTION: A housing 10 has a chain sprocket 11 and a shoe housing 12. Driving force is transferred from a crankshaft to the chain sprocket 11, and a camshaft 2, a vane rotor 16, and bushes 19, 22 are fastened and fixed by a bolt 24 on the same axis. Then the vane rotor 16 is rotated relative to the housing 10 by hydraulic pressure. In a state before the camshaft 2 and the vane rotor 16 are fastened by the bolt 24, the clearance is formed between the outer peripheral side 18 of the vane rotor 16 and the inner peripheral side 15 of a front plate 14 in the rotating shaft direction. Then the clearance in the inner radial direction on the outer peripheral side than a bolt 25 is smaller than on the outer peripheral edge side of the vane rotor 16. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
