PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wrapping paper for see-through package having a certain level of transparency, capable of reading a bar code, etc., printed on a film and having Japanese paper-like touch feeling. SOLUTION: The wrapping paper for see-through package is obtained by making a material in which a synthetic fiber having 150-500 aspect ratio (fiber length/fiber diameter) is formulated in a ratio of 45-100 wt.% into a paper having 6-14 g/m<SP>2</SP>unit weight so as to control the opacity to≤20%. Since the packaging paper has a certain level of transparency, persons can read a bar code, etc., printed on a film through the base paper and the wrapping paper has Japanese paper-like feeling.
