PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for predicting a burning phenomenon while considering a phenomenon of collision among concentrate particles and growth in a flash smelting furnace. SOLUTION: This simulating device comprises: a burning analysis section 100 which solves a flow model for many phases according to an Euler method, which consist of a gas phase and a plurality of particle phases classified according to the size of the concentrate particles, to analyze the burning phenomenon, and calculates at least a volume fraction of each particle phase; a collision probability calculation section 102 for determining collision probabilityη<SB>α</SB>between anαphase of a particle phase with a larger size and aβphase of a particle phase with a smaller size, on every one of all combinations between the particle phases composed of two particle phases among a plurality of the particle phases, while using output from the burning phenomenon analysis on each particle phase in the above combination; and a volume fraction correction section 104 for adding one part or the total of the volume fraction calculated through the burning phenomenon analysis on theβphase to the volume fraction calculated through the burning phenomenon analysis on theαphase, according to the determined collision probabilityη<SB>α</SB>.
