PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of enhancing the abrasion resistance without increasing the tire weight, and particularly capable of suppressing the wear of shoulders. SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire 1 is furnished with a plurality of main grooves stretching in the circumferential direction 11a-11d and a spiral belt layer 24, wherein the expansion ratio in the radial direction is 0-4%, and the main grooves on the shoulder side (main grooves 11a and 11b) are positioned at 65-75% from the tire equator CL of the grounding width Wf/2 on the tread grounding surface, while the shoulder grounding length Lfs in the position at 83-85% of the grounding width Wf/2 is 93-95% of the center grounding length Lf, and the angleαof the equator parallel line SS intersecting the tangent ST at the intersecting point K is 75-90°.
