PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bar code printer capable of printing a bar code having a length exceeding the width of a using print medium. SOLUTION: The bar code printer is provided with a single-step printing means for printing the bar code in one step and a multi-step printing means for printing the bar code after dividing it into a plurality of steps. The single-step printing means is selected when the length of the bar code drawn from bar code data of a print target is fit into the width of the print medium.
