PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grinding wheel spindle capable of confirming the mutual connected state of divided bodies in the grinding wheel spindle composed of the divided bodies separably connected to each other. SOLUTION: The grinding wheel spindle is provided with a first grinding wheel spindle 71 and a second grinding wheel spindle 72 connected separably in an axial direction and having close contact parts (an end face 84 of the first grinding wheel spindle 71, a tapered hole 85 of the first grinding wheel spindle 71, an end face 86 of the second grinding wheel spindle 72 and a tapered cylinder 87 of the second grinding wheel spindle) brought into close contact with each other, and attaching/detaching a grinding wheel T through a mutual clearance in the separated state; and a fluid pressure applying means 92 for applying a fluid pressure between the respective close contact parts 84, 85, 86, 87 of the first grinding wheel spindle 71 and second grinding wheel spindle 72 in the connected state.
